Passing homes where friends and families gather to feast,Sharing love, laughter, and moments of peace.Turkeys at the center, fixings all around,Desserts to devour with no guilt to be found.
But as we made our lefts and rights through town,The streets began to change, and the mood settled down. The people we sought were not in warm homes—No tables, no fixings, just cold nights alone.
We pulled over with smiles to light up the night,Offering warmth in the chill, with food as a light. To their surprise, it was their turn to dine. A full Thanksgiving meal, with love intertwined.
Their smiles came back with blessings so kind,Gratitude flowing from heart to mine. And as we passed out each meal with care,It was clear they’re people just like me and you right there.
Their chapters are different, their roads more rough,But they matter, they’re worthy, and that is enough.
From street to street, the response was the same:Grateful hearts asking nothing, offering no blame. They hadn’t expected a meal that night, but we filled their bellies and spirits with light.
